ABOUT US
Richard J Rogers
An expert in international human rights and international criminal law, Richard advises governments, businesses, international organisations, or individuals facing legal challenges stemming from armed conflict or unstable environments.
Richard is a qualified lawyer in California (active attorney), and England and Wales (unregistered barrister). He worked for a commercial lawyer in San Francisco, dealing with complex intellectual property disputes. He later held senior positions in the UN and the OSCE dealing with war crimes and human rights - as the OSCE’s Chief legal system monitor in post-conflict Kosovo, the Principal Defender at the UN’s Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, and the head of legal support for the Appeals Chamber at the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia. Since 2010, he has worked as an independent lawyer, representing public and private clients in unstable environments and conflict zones. Richard established non-profits, Climate Counsel (environmental justice) and LexCollective (human rights investigations) where is serves as (co) Executive Director.
